One of the great problem solving techniques called the Worry Decision Tree can be helpful when worry or anxiety has taken over your life. Let’s take a look at it how you could use it.
Firstly, ask yourself and be very specific what are you worried about.
Then, ask yourself is there anything you can do to resolve your worry or problem.
If your answer is ‘No’, then you will have to accept that the problem resolution is out of your hands and you have to let the worry go by changing your focus of attention.
If your answer is ‘Yes’, then work out what you could do by listing your options and do it now rather than worrying.
If you are not able to do it right now, then plan it to do it later and let the worry go by changing your focus of attention.
